Settle these before comparing the grid

  1. Deployment: carried by hand to a flooded street, trailered to a slipway, or davit-launched. This sets the practical weight ceiling before any other choice.
  2. Floor: aluminium panels pack flat and take boots and gear; a VIB air deck is far lighter to carry but is a different structure and a different price.
  3. Crew and load: rated persons assume adults without equipment. Rescue kit, pumps and a casualty change the number you should be quoting against.
  4. Documentation: buoyancy, material and load claims have to be matched to the exact model and destination market in writing — a catalogue row is not a certificate.
