Fishing boats, bait boats and angling platforms

Fishing buyers split into two groups that want opposite things: an angler who needs a stable platform to stand on, and a carp fisher who needs a small remote craft to carry bait. Comparing them in one grid hides the decision.

Settle these before comparing the grid

  1. Standing or seated: a boat you fish standing from needs beam and a rigid or aluminium floor. A seated boat can be lighter and pack smaller.
  2. Bait boats: the specification that matters is hopper capacity, control range and whether GPS return is fitted — not hull dimensions.
  3. Transport: whether the boat has to fit in a car boot decides between a folding air floor and a rigid hull long before price does.
  4. Accessories: rod holders, seats, anchors and fish finders are usually quoted separately; confirm what is in the box.
