SUP OEM Source Link Case

Anonymous SUP sourcing case

Turn a supplier link into a usable SUP OEM quote

A SUP source-link RFQ should separate board option, accessory kit, logo requirement, carton data, and DDP route before payment. This anonymous case format shows the checks buyers should request.

  • Use this when a buyer has a 1688, Taobao, Tmall, or factory link for inflatable SUP boards from China.
  • Confirm board size, thickness, material claim, pump, paddle, fin, leash, bag, repair kit, logo position, and carton data.
  • Ask for a landed quote that separates source price, China freight, service fee, export packing, international freight, and DDP duty assumptions.

Material marking and pattern preparation. Drop-stitch board construction is decided at the cutting and layup stage, which is where a single-layer and a fusion board diverge. It supports supplier screening and does not prove the batch, capacity or production slot behind any specific quote — ask for order-specific evidence by RFQ.

What the listing gave us, and what it did not

The starting point was a single supplier link for an all-round board, with a length, a price and a photograph of a complete package. What it did not carry was the construction — whether the drop-stitch was single layer, double layer or fusion — and that is the field which separates a board that stays rigid for three seasons from one that softens in the first. Two boards at the same length and the same price routinely differ by a whole construction grade here.

The other absent fields were working pressure, maximum load, fin-box type and what the pictured package actually contained. A photograph showing a paddle, pump, leash and bag is not a statement that they are included, and on SUP the accessory kit is a large share of the unit cost.

The questions that changed the quote

Four asks moved the reply from a price to a specification: state the drop-stitch construction and the PVC layer claim; state working pressure and maximum load; list the carton contents item by item with the packed weight; and confirm fin-box type and deck-pad specification. Each is answerable in one line by a supplier reading from a factory sheet, and each is a stall for one who is not.

The fourth of those did most of the work. Once the carton was itemised, the original price turned out to cover the board and a bag, with paddle and pump quoted per unit on top — which moved the landed comparison against a rival quote that had looked more expensive.

OEM turns a price into a programme

Artwork, logo placement, colourway and minimum order quantity change the per-unit price more than the board specification does, and they need settling before a number means anything. Ask what the MOQ is per colourway rather than per order, because a supplier quoting 100 pieces may mean 100 of one artwork rather than 100 across a range.

Ask also who holds the artwork file and what the approval loop looks like — sample photograph, physical sample, or production photograph before shipment. On a first OEM run, that loop is the difference between a batch you can sell and a batch you argue about.

What this case does not establish

This is a sourcing programme built from selected supplier references, not a single-factory catalogue. Supplier identity, current production capability and the final manufacturer still have to be verified for the chosen row before payment, and the figures quoted in any reply belong to that row rather than to the programme.

Treat the outcome here as a method rather than a price: the same four questions produce a comparable quote from any supplier, which is the part worth reusing.

FAQ

Can I source inflatable SUP boards from 1688 or Taobao?

Yes. Send the source link, target quantity, destination, and OEM requirement. The key is verifying selected option, accessory kit, packing data and landed cost before payment.

Is a cheap SUP listing price enough to approve an order?

No. SUP listings can exclude accessories or use option-based pricing. Always request exact option confirmation, carton data, gross weight and route assumptions.

What proof should I request before a SUP sample?

Request selected option screenshot, board specification, accessory checklist, packing size, gross weight, logo method, sample lead time and source-link quote summary.
